Burgers And Ice Cream In Kichijouji (2009-11-03)
If you're hankering for a burger in Kichijouji, Gono is a pretty good place.
The lunch set we had on a Saturday included a burger (bigger patty
or extra toppings cost most), fries, unlimited trips to the salad bar
and drinks bar for 1200Yen (US$13). The salad bar serves a measly
variety of vegetables, in fact about only 7 or 8 vegetables.
The burgers are made-to-order and grilled over charcoal in the
semi-open kitchen from where licks of flame can be seen shooting up
into the air from the grill. Our patties were cooked
well-done but still dripping juices which is how I like mine. I
suppose you can request your preferred doneness from the very friendly
staff.
After the burgers, we went to Inokashira Koen to chill and sat on a
bench for a long time people-watching such as laughing at the
ridiculous outfit some people wore. On our way out of the park
just past the footbridge over the lake, we got ice cream. It was
a good relaxing day out even though it totally exhausted me for
unexplicable reason.
